Project Abstract

This project aims to build on our pioneering work for developing quantum photonics technology for secure quantum and classical computing. We aim to demonstrate a small-scale quantum network capable of supporting secure delegated computation, by leveraging the unique advantages of photons that allow quantum information to be transmitted and computed using the same physical system. This network will support both blind and verifiable quantum computation, and will provide a test-bed for new cryptographic protocols for secure computation and homomorphic encryption developed as part of this project. We will push the boundaries of currently realizable quantum computations and communication in the direction of realistic applications and invest towards building the necessary infrastructure for a secure quantum client-server network, even before a full-scale quantum computer is built.
